My fiance is having me buy an ATV while he's in Iraq. He doesnt get back til Feb so I have to store it until then. He says he prefers that its in climate control storage so that itll be heated but then we've talked to a lot of people who say it doesnt matter if its in a garage that isnt heated. Does it matter?

  1. Not in the least, under most circumstances.  The only time it would be nice to be heated, is if you take it out DURING the winter, because it makes it a little easier to start.  It actually seems to me that the oil/fluids turn sludgy FASTER when it's not cold out, so it may even keep better in the cold when not in use.  Make sure to keep it covered/protected from the sun, though, because the sun will do some serious damage over time to the leather seats and any exposed plastic parts.

ETA: Make sure to drain the fluids, too, when it's being stored for long periods of time.
