Question:

ATV riding and Beer?

I have done a lot of trail riding in Wisconsin, and I have noticed a huge amount of people drinking beers on the trails. There are even bars set along some trails so the riders can drink. It really pisses me off to see so many riders drinking. I want to know if any ATVers from other states see the same thing on the trails you ride on, or if this is just a Wisconsin thing. What's happening on the trails you ride on in your state?

  1. It isn't just Wisconsin. ATV riders do not have the same regulations in most states as people driving cars and trucks on public roads.

Any time a person consumes alcoholic beverages there is a big chance that their judgment and reflexes will be impaired. Some trails are hazardous enough without that impairment but add the alcohol, and that is a recipe for disaster.

  2. It's here in Georgia also.No bars, but alot of 1 handed drivers and coolers strapped to the racks. If you see someone d&d(drinking and driving) call the local police,or the DNR (Department of Natural Recources)The law would be the same as d&d with a motor vehicle. And,if you are lucky, could possibly get them for littering also.Never seen an ATV operator keep his empty beer cans, too much evidence to tote around for a conviction.
