Hey I have a wintec 2000 the older model before the interchangeable gullet and before the new "sleek" model and i'm wondering what people might think it is worth to sell, i've had it since new and its in perfect condition, sell un mounted, pic of it on my horse below... please any quotes would be great, thanks

(I have replaced the little wintec taggy things on the stirrup keepers too)

  1. looks to be in good nick. Id pay maybe $100-$200 for it

  2. 150 sounds about right

  3. your saddle looks pretty good but worn. Is the tree good? is the stuffing good? are the girth points strong? if so try around $250-300, but think again about selling it if you are only selling it for buying a new one. if it fits your horse well as just because it's new doesn't mean it will fit the horse any better. Remember no. 1 is your saddle has to be comfortable for your horse or it may cause back problems. I have a leather dressage saddle that I am told must be 35yrs+ old (35 years ago they finished making that brand) and it looks perfect, is the most comfortable saddle ever (like riding on air) but most importantly, it fits my horse where other new saddles have caused back pain. We recently sold all our new saddles that we bought prior to this one as our other horses also had problems due to the flat design of new saddles. This design looks good but causes bridging on the horses back. ie. saddle sores and pressure points, one even to the extent of have raised lumps after 1/2 hr of riding and it appeared to fit her perfectly. We now only buy old leather saddles ie. hubertus, uhl. We have had no problems with the saddles since. Hope this helps

  4. If it came fully mounted and in really good condition, I would probably pay $250 max. If you wanted to put it on Ebay I would start it at around $150 - $200 unmounted. A mounted saddle is very appealing, maybe you could go buy cheap mounts for it.

But it looks very much like the wintec 2000 model, so you have a good chance of getting a better price.

Unfortunatly the interchangable gullets on the newer wintecs are really popular, but the synthetic materials make it really appealing for a first saddle or bash around saddle for pony club. I reckon if you added a saddle blanket and/or a cheap bridle and made it a complete starters pack, you might be able to sell it for about $350+, very appealing to the first pony kids.

    Good Luck
