  1. That your still a fascist regime and we control World Cricket and own all rights to any Championship ! hahaha... please remember that !

  2. I think the manner in which the Australians acted after their victory was appalling to say the least. Their behavior, as a protest against having to play a "B-team"  was an embarrassment to Australian sport although you wouldn't expect anything less from them. The entire week, the Aussie media and administrators were saying how the "B-Boks" are going to get a hammering. In the end, they could only win by 8pts, failed to get a bonus point for four tries and in actual fact can be considered lucky to win at all after going 17-0 down.

Also, the "poor ticket sales" are being blamed on the Springboks resting their first-team players. That's a load of rubbish. If there were too little fans that turned out, the blame can firstly be put on the Aussie media with their reporting the whole week that "no-one is going to go to the game". If someone reads the whole week that the stadium will be empty, then chances are they wouldn't want to go. If the Aussie media had put the game in a positive light, more people would have gone.

Secondly, most of the blame can be put on the Aussie public themselves. It was Larkham's and Gregan's last game in Australia and if they can't be bothered to go watch these two great servants of Australian rugby, then it's their own d**n fault that "only 51000" people turned out.

They should take a look at the example set by Springbok supporters. If their team is doing well, the stadium will be packed regardless of what team Australia or New Zealand sends. Most of the tickets are sold long before a team announcement is even made.

New Zealand rested their players for 7 long weeks in the Super14 and the only reason why Australia haven't done the same is that they don't have the depth to do it (and none of the players played in the semis or final of the Super14).

They should shut up and stop whining (as usual).

    *Edit*

I've just read some of the answers below mine and would like to set the record straight on some points raised.

Marc, you mention that it's the "South Africans who should be ashamed of your actions of treating the tri-nations with contempt. The sooner the South Africans are kicked out of the trinations and play in europe the better for everyone".

We did not "treat the Tr-Nations with contempt" as you say. Maybe if we had been embarrassed in the games that our "B-team" played, then the Aussie and NZ Rugby Unions could have had reasons to feel upset, but the fact is that we were not embarrased and our players did well. Like I mentioned earlier, Australia were lucky to win at all. The viewing public, SANZAR and indeed the broadcasters themselves want competitive, tough games and that's exactly what they got. Don't blame South Africa for having depth in their rugby.

To The One and Only you go on to say that "these South Africans think there big shot. there so scared of losing against us (Australia) that they are trying to run away to the Northern Hemisphere. the only good teams is England and Italy. they might as well bring there A team because there going to lose against Australia and New Zealand any way at the world cup and embarrass themselves even more."

Shame, you seem to be a bit confused mate?

Do you realise that in the history of the Tri-Nations Australia have only beat SA once at home? And even that victory was by a dodgy last-minute penalty. Australia is far from invincible, but you'll learn that soon enough in the World Cup when you don't make the fnal and SA does.

Also, you reckon Italy is a good team? You clearly don't watch enough rugby mate. Also, try to brush up on your use of the English language, you're clearly stuggling with it mate.

The fact of the matter is that NZ and Australia need us more than what we need you. There is not a chance that SA will be kicked out of the Tri-Nations and Super14 because we bring way too much money and value to the respective tournaments. We would want to watch a yearly series contested by only two teams? That would be a joke (even if there had to be a third team like the Pacific Islanders, it would still not equal what we have now).

The only way SA would leave their SANZAR partners is if we do it voluntarily and if that had to happen, I can guarantee that Australia and NZ will be left worse off.

So, I say again, shut up and stop whining.

  3. i was actually at that game and thought it was a good game to watch.  The South Africans played with a lot of heart while the Australians Manged to find some form a the end of the game.  But while many of you are quick to criticise the Australians maybe it's you South Africans who should be ashamed of you actions of treating the tri-nations with contempt.  The sooner the South Africans are kicked out of the trinations and play in europe the better for everyone.  I would much rather watch a game against a team that takes all rugby competions seriously.

Mandela is a truely great man who is one of my hero's but what has he got to do with Australian rugby that a trophy is named after him for a game played with Australia???

  4. these South Africans think there big shot.  there so scared of losing against us (Australia) that they are trying to run away to the Northern Hemisphere. the only good teams is England and Italy. they might as well bring there A team because there going to lose against Australia and New Zealand any way at the world cup and embarrass themselves even more. that my opinion.

  5. I think they felt it was wrong to take cup because it was a 2nd team they were playing.

So it was not a proper victory.

Its was just the manner in which they did it was not nice.

  6. I know many Aussies personally, and on Saturday the rugby team in no way represented the Australian people.  They acted like bigots and Aussies are not bigots.  So shame on the rugby team for snubbing a trophy named after a most noble man.  Lets hope the Aussies let their team know they will not tolerate such disgusting behavior that brings shame to such a great people.

  7. I think there is an underlying problem with the fact that South Africa want to link themselves with the Northern Hemisphere.

I think it makes sense that they do not have the problem of time zones which has put them on the backfoot in the Super 12/14 for years when playing away as both games far from home.

This is a problem for NZ and AUS as they will be left playing just each other in a top level capacity if South Africa do go North.
