  1. If they have to be alive what about Ian Keirnan who started up the clean up Australia concept.

  2. What about Father Chris Riley, he is a nominee for Australian of the Year and has done so much for the community.

    Some of the nominee's include:

    • Pianist Simon Tedeschi

    • Cyclist Cadel Evans

    • Trans-Tasman kayakers James Castrission and Justin Jones

    • Climate change strategist Professor Ross Garnaut

    • Fromelle Diggers researcher Lambis Englezos

    • Former cricketer and breast cancer fundraiser Glenn McGrath

    • Gardener Peter Cundall

    • Street kids mentor Father Chris Riley

    • Eyesight Foundation leader Gabi Hollows

    • Netballer Liz Ellis

    • Historian and storyteller Ted Egan

If you do you assignment of Father Chris Riley, send a copy to the Australian of the Year committee, I think he is truly deserving and every bit will help him acheive it.

  3. how about you be happy with people giving you suggestions and THEN YOU GO OFF and find a lot of detail about them,.....

if you are to learn about a famous worthy australian you should be bothered to actually do some research yourself .. consider the work those famous australians (that people are suggesting to you) have done to get where they are

otherwise YOU won't be doing an assignment about a famous australian WE WILL BE FOR YOU.

MEL has given you a very worthy person to research .. Now get off you lazy little butt and learn about Father Chris Riley , I am NOT religious BUT I know that he is one man that is an inspiration,,,

  7. Personally, I would choose the 1976 Australian of the Year Award recipient Sir Edward ‘Weary’ Dunlop AC CMG OBE (1907 – 1993).

If you chose Weary Dunlop you would have no problem finding plenty of information about his remarkable life.

Just enter Weary Dunlop into any search engine eg. Google etc for info. Click on the blue for more information.

I won't do the research for you but I will provide links.

    Good luck.

He was very tall and so he stooped a lot to perform the operations for which he became famous. This made him look as though he was tired. It led to his nick-name "Weary".
