AV Plug Question!!?

My Yellow plug in my television stopped working for no reason!! what can I do????????????

  1. With the set off swap the red plug on both ends with yellow. This should prove the cable is good. You didn't say if the sound. OK  you didn't say if it was an input or output. REAL NEED MORE INFORMATION


  2. Um...buy a new TV?

    Seriously, check to make sure that the cable is plugged into the proper ports securely.  A loose or mis-connected cable can cause all sorts of odd behaviors.

    If the problem still occurs, try  a different cable.  If that works, throw out the old cable - it's broken.  If that doesn't work, try connecting a different device (DVD player, etc.) to the TV with the old cable.  If that works, then your device's video port is bad.  

    If that's still not it, try connecting your old device to the TV on a different port if possible.  If that's not possible, try a different TV.  If the old device and old cable work on a different TV, then it's your TV's port and you'll have to call a repair shop to find out how much it'll cost.  If the TV is over 10 years old, however, it'll be cheaper to buy a new TV.
