AVAST: Does "deleting" something in the chest delete the virus?

Do i keep the stuff in the virus chest or do i delete it, if i highlight the stuff in the chest and dleete it, does it delete the virus too? or how do i know the virus is gone?

The virus is gone once you delete it out of the virus chest.
