Andre Villas Boas has confirmed that Adebayor is one of the transfer targets that Tottenham are looking at as they want to add to their squad in terms of offensive capabilities before the regular English Premier League season
kicks off next month...
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 manager and the newly appointed Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas Boas has admitted that his team need to sign another striker before the summer transfer window closes.
After Harry Redknapp’s dismissal earlier on in the month, Tottenham shortlisted and then settled on Andre Villas Boas’ name as the former Porto manager was dismissed from his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 at Chelsea last season. Despite the fact that Villas
Boas has not got a good record in the English Premier League with Chelsea, his credentials cannot be understated.
The Portuguese tactician took Porto to the Europa League crown and also won the Portuguese league with them and nurtured the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hulk-c16436 and Falcao whilst doing so. Not only that, before his appointment at Porto, Villas Boas
worked under Jose Mourinho at Chelsea and gained significant experience in man management as well as tactician know-how.
With Tottenham aiming to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, it will be important that they secure another striker which increasingly looks to be Adebayor who was on loan at the club from Manchester City where he is permanently
contracted for the time being.
Andre Villas Boas said, “It would be a lie if I tell you we are not looking for a striker. And of course Ade is part of that list. We are extremely willing to have Adebayor on board with us. We are onto the market to try and finish
the squad”
He added, “The squad at this moment has some fragilities, particularly on the striker positions. I think this football club is also famous for being very precise on the market and doing the right business and that's what we want
to do.”
Tottenham will hope that they can secure Adebayor for cheap as the figure of around about 5 million pounds is being touted up at the moment. However the transfer fee is not the real issue but the Togolese striker’s wages are which
might be beyond the Spur’s wage scale.
