Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has criticised Mexican attacker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Giovani-dos-Santos-c14983 for publicly expressing his desire to leave White Hart Lane when his contract expires.
The 23-year old Mexican joined Tottenham from Spanish giants Barcelona in 2008 after some impressive performances for the Catalans. The player has also been very impressive when playing for the Mexican national side, but has failed to make an impact with
Tottenham Hotspur; making only two Premier League starts since his move.
The Meican has been in transit for three consecutive summers, having spent loan spells at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Racing-c40298 Santander, Galatasaray and Ipswich. Dos Santos is moving into the final year of his contract and has expressed his desire to leave the club.
Speaking to the press earlier this month, he said:
“I want to return to Spain. There is a new coach at Tottenham, a new season is starting and it is clear to me that I want to return to Spanish football.”
“I think I will be able to announce the move soon.”
Dos http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 as soon as possible.
With the transfer window coming to a close in the near future, Tottenham will surely consider selling the player as it will be the last chance for the club to cash in on some of the £4.7 million they had paid http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 for the Mexican.
Spurs manager Villas-Boas has been angered by the player’s decision to go public with his comments and said:
"I am not sure what Gio's thought process was, coming out with a statement like that.”
"The player is contracted to the club. We respect him and are counting on him to return to club duty. Then we will make a decision that is best for the club."
Tottenham have been the target of criticism for the greater part of this month.Former player http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 Levy on his handling of the Modric situation. Another player that has been looking for
a move away from the Lane is third choice and out-of-favour goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Heurelho-Gomes-c16173.
