Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has urged his team for a response against Swansea City this weekend, and hailed Swansea boss http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Laudrup for the impact he has had at the club.
Spurs take on the Swans this Sunday at White Hart Lane following last week’s 2-1 defeat against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043. Both teams are fresh from two defeats that ended their impressive winning streak in the league.
Tottenham had been on a winning run of three games in the league up until they travelled to Goodison Park to face Everton. The Toffees had been without a win, and needed one badly to regain their momentum for a top 4 push.
The visitors had taken the lead, and the game looked set to end with Tottenham a goal to the good. However, just when it seemed like Everton will leave the game empty handed, they grabbed two goals in stoppage time courtesy of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nikica-Jelavic-c27906,
stealing the win from right under Tottenham’s nose.
Villas-Boas has urged his side to bounce back by getting a result against Swansea, but knows his side face a tough encounter against an in-form Swansea side. The Portuguese hailed Swansea’s attacking style of play and credited manager Michael Laudrup for
taking the team to the ‘next level’.
Speaking to reporters, he said:
“We know they have been good away from home. It won’t be an easy game. They are here on their own merit. We are sitting three points off third and we look forward to the next two home games. We have come out of a difficult five weeks playing 10 games, which
has been tiring. The players have been brilliant throughout.”
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 boss then went on to sing Laudrup’s praises and complimented the players Swansea have signed this season, particularly Michu, Hernandez and De Guzman. He added:
“Any player arriving in the Premier League will find it difficult but Michu has been brilliant, a tremendous goal scorer. De Guzman and Hernandez have also done well and Michael Laudrup has take Swansea to the next level.”
