Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has hit out at the racist chants by the travelling Lazio supporters after Thursday night’s 0-0 Europa League clash.

The game ended in a stalemate, and Tottenham once again failed to secure a win at home. Spurs had been the better of the two teams on the night, but failed to get a result as they saw three goals disallowed.
New signing Clint Dempsey had scored on his debut in the opening minutes, but his goal was ruled out on account of being offside.

Villas-Boas was disappointed with not managing a win at home, but was more let down by the events that occurred during and after the game.

The manager admitted that he did not hear the chants himself, but was let down by the actions of the Lazio fans and hopes that UEFA will take appropriate action.
Speaking to the press in his post-match conference, Villas-Boas said:
"I think (UEFA will act if the accusations are proven)."
"UEFA is very active on this kind of situation and our overall objective is to kick racism out of football. I can't point the finger at anyone in any way shape or form because I didn't hear anything. It's for the authorities to follow up in any kind of investigation."
The manager then went on to speak about the game and his team’s performance. Having seen three goals disallowed, Villas-Boas was left frustrated as he continues his search for his first home win with the North London club.
“We managed to put the ball in the net three times but unfortunately because of mistakes from the ref we couldn't get the goals we certainly deserved,” added the Portuguese manager.
