Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has expressed his relief over discovering that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422 has escaped serious injury, after a Charlie Adam tackle threatened to rule him out for the start to the new campaign.
The Portuguese manager was relieved when he found out that Bale will recover from the injury and has avoided serious harm on his ankle ligaments. The Welshman was substituted in the game against Liverpool on Saturday, after a reckless tackle by Charlie Adam
injured the player’s ankle. Bale had to leave the game on crutches and was not very happy about the incident.
Speaking to the press in a post-match interview, the 23-year old winger expressed his frustration and anger. He went as far as to term the tackle a calculated and deliberate attempt to bring him down and called Charlie Adam a coward for not apologising for
his actions.
Bale wasn’t the only player who expressed his feelings about the incident. Spurs right-back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kyle-Walker-c21566 also spoke to the press today and accused Adam of being jealous of Bale.
Manager Villas-Boas labelled the tackle as a ‘nasty’ one and recently spoke about his relief at having heard good news regarding the injury. Speaking to the press, he said:
"Needless to say, we are extremely relieved Gareth has not been seriously injured.”
He also urged the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 midfielder to apologise to Bale for his tackle and added:
"Adam being called a coward? It’s Gareth speaking and he felt strongly after the match bearing in mind the player didn’t go to him to apologise for what was considered a difficult and nasty challenge. The words came out of his mouth and I’m sure he said
it in full consciousness. Will we take it any further? We are discussing it within the club but in my opinion, the matter is dealt.”
Villas-Boas later on said that he thinks it will be wise for Adam to come out with an apology and wants the matter laid to rest as soon as possible. He admitted that the Scott had approached him after the game to talk about the incident, but he wants the player
to apologise to Bale since he is the one who is suffering the outcome.
