Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has taken another swipe at former club Chelsea by stating his bitterness with the club’s management and administration.
Villas-Boas arrived at Stamford Bridge last season after leading former club Porto to the Portuguese quadruple. Villas-Boas came to prominence after his success with Porto, with many calling him the next Jose Mourinho. He was appointed as Chelsea manager
amidst great hype and excitement.
Things however did not go too well for the young Portuguese as he was sacked by Chelsea after only 8 months with the club. The manager faced great resistance as he looked to make major changes in the Chelsea squad and assemble a team for the future.
Villas-Boas was appointed as the new Spurs boss earlier this month, and despite much criticism, he is confident of success with the North London club and hopes to take them to new heights.
The young manager has already signed two big names in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jan-Vertonghen-c17814 and Gylfi Sigurdsson as he looks set to prepare Tottenham for the coming season.
Last week, the manager took shots at Chelsea, saying that while he respected Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich’s decision to fire him, he will never be able to accept his sacking.
Villas-Boas has compared both clubs and their management styles, praising Tottenham chairman http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 Levy and his ambitions for the club.
"I met the chairman, and saw the way he goes about his business at the club. He knows what he is doing, approaching the market in a different way, is a person of great football understanding and he had the effect of giving me the assurances I wanted in terms
of building something," Villas-Boas said.
"With an owner that is involved on a daily basis at the football club, with his knowledge, that is the main difference. The structures that surround Tottenham are extremely good.”
"They are not looking for certain scapegoats, and when so many people are striving forward, it makes your http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 easier."
Villas-Boas then described his time at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and how both clubs differed in tradition and philosophy. The manager also stated his future plans for Tottenham by revealing his desire to hold on to star player Rafael Van Der Vaart, who is now seen as an important
part of the squad as the club looks set to lose out on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luka-Modric-c22857.
