Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has urged his team to stay focused and hold on to their lead on the league table following last night’s 1-0 win over Swansea City.

Villas-Boas had admitted after the game that it would have been a travesty if Tottenham had not taken anything from the game. With the new year approaching, it has become highly crucial to get maximum points from these next few games.
Going into the festive period, Villas-Boas will be glad to have seen his side win the game with such a slender lead. Tottenham had been the better side throughout the 90 minutes, but Swansea were firm in defence and made the hosts work hard.

“A margin of seven, nine points in the Premier League means nothing so we have to be very, very, aware. From third to tenth place is very tight. For us it’s important to break out from this pack and join the top but understanding that it’s not going to be
easy.”
