Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has stated his intention of holding on to Dutch international Rafael Van Der Vaart this summer despite transfer speculation linking him with a move away from the club.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 manager arrived at White Hart Lane earlier this month after an 8 month stint at Stamford Bridge, and things at that point were not going too well for the North London club.
Villas-Boas arrived at a time when most of Tottenham’s star players were the subject of transfer speculation linking them with exits.
The Portuguese manager however feels confident about Tottenham and has high hopes for the club. One such player is Rafael Van Der Vaart, who has been increasingly linked with a move back to his former club Hamburg.
Van Der Vaart’s future was uncertain after Tottenham acquired attacking midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson from Hoffenheim at the start of the month. But Villas-Boas has stated his admiration for the player and his desire to keep him at North London.
Things became even more uncertain when former club Hamburg stated that they are not interested in the player. This came as a surprise to many because Hamburg’s owner and fans were hoping for a reunion with Van Der Vaart, who has achieved cult status with
the German club.

But now, Villas-Boas has spoken out on the situation and it seems like Van Der Vaart will stay at White Hart Lane after all.
"With Van der Vaart, at the moment I am absolutely counting on him," Villas-Boas said.
"It is a totally different situation from Luka, who has been chased by different clubs in the past two seasons and is continuing to drag interest. We have to make sure the club's interests are met, and it is up to the chairman to decide that."
