AVG, Avast, Avira ? Which has best detection rate and which is best overall?

Avira free for home personal use has the highest rate of detection, higher then Kaspersky Russia.  Around 97.6%.   And you get a background scanner, auto. updates and very low use of resources.

The only negative is that you will get a nag screen that pop ups telling you to purchase their pro version.   (Not really a big deal, for what you get for free in detection and very low resources, plus ease of use with very fast scanning of your system).

AVG free is good because it dosnt slow your computer down like other virus programs and it finds most viruses and has daily updates.

I never used Avira only Avg and Avast. Currently I' using Avast.

I like a little bit more Avast because I find it liter than Avg, but both are good in detection.
