AVG 8.0 on my computer...help?

Question

I have AVG installed, but my security center keeps saying I do not have any Anti-Virus installed. It alerts me all the time which is quite annoying. So I am wondering how do i fix this?

Goto Security Center Control panel and click on Change the Way Security Center Alerts Me  for either XP or Vista

on Vista click on Don't Notify Me and Don't Display the Icon.

On XP, under Alert Settings, deselect Firewall, Auto Updates and Virus Protections.

This just stops the annoying messages but the applications are still hard at work protecting your computer.

Uninstall it and re-install it.If that doesn't work you will need to update your AVG 8.0.

Get rid of it and use avast.  It works well with any windows system.

Yeah sometimes the security center dose not always recognize your security protection. Try to turn it off then back on to see if that clears things up. By the way if you are using the free version of AVG it only has basic protection features so you may need get some other protection programs to fill in all the missing gaps.
