  1. COOKIES WONT SLOW COMP. DOWN!!!!

DOWNLOAD THIS CLEANER IS ONE OF IF NOT THE BEST FOR CLEANING UP c**p ON YOUR COMP.

    http://www.ccleaner.com/download

  2. AVG will usually have consigned them to the "Vault" or "quarantine area.  From your main scan screen click the bottom right hand button which reads, "Empty Vault" and they will be gone.

  3. Tracking cookies don't do any harm, and won't slow the computer down, but if you want to delete them,

Tools - internet options - then under 'browsing history' click 'delete..' then 'Delete cookies'.

  4. download and run "ccleaner"(weekly)

avg saving the cookies is taking some of your memory,

ccleaner removes the cookies and temp files left by browsing ,giving you memory back and improving your browsing speed and safety.

    hope this helps

  5. You click the link that says "consign to vault", if you don`t see this it means AVG has already done it.....

  6. To remove tracking cookies is a simple in-browser process.

    If you are using Internet Explorer version 7 follow these instructions;

[To find out which version: In the i.e toolbar at the top, next to tools there are two arrows facing right. Click these. Go to help and then about internet explorer]

    1. Open internet explorer

    2. Select 'tools' from the internet explorer toolbar (it has a picture of a cog/gear with the word 'tools' next to it.

    3. The first option in that drop down menu is 'delete browsing history'..click this

    4. There will be a list of things you can delete. The 2nd one down is 'cookies'

    5. Click 'delete cookies'

    6. It will ask you if you are sure you want to do so...click yes

The tracking cookies are now deleted.

    A few notes:

Tracking cookies are 99% of the time not dangerous and will be stored on your computer after visiting any website. Do not pay attention to samuel r's response; AVG free is an excellent product and as long as you also have a firewall and an anti-spyware program you are fine.

If you are using a different browser or have any other questions, feel free to send me a message.

  7. i use spybot search and destroy to get rid of tracking cookies

  8. Don't worry my friend these tracking cookies are very normal and they don't affect your computer ( In most of the cases). These cookies are text files that store some information which is required by the server that you are visiting. When you visit Yahoomail a cookie will be downloaded to your computer which will be kept by the browser. These cookies have some time limit. Let me tell how these cookies can help you. Suppose you logged in to your E-mail and by mistake you closed that window, So to see your E-mail you will type in the www.yahoomail.com (for example) and now you'll be sent directly to your E-mail account without giving Username or Password. This thing is done by the cookies. So don't Panic. Be cool and relaxed. I feel that you've no complete Internet security. AVG free edition is not a complete product. So I recommend you to download Kaspersky 6 months free version legally from the website below.

  9. Yup i get these all the time. First of all delete all your history.

A cookie is something or some program that monitors what websites you are going on and things but doesn't send it to a 3rd party such as another website without been consulted. This is a low level cookie that has a low risk.

But if it is above level one then you have a virus or someone is sending your information to other places without your permmission.
