  2. Tengo instalado el AVG free 8.0.138

Desde ayer me pone un signo admiración en rojo:

Le hice Update y me pone un cartelito:

Update failed: A .bin file is missing.

Desinstale y volví a instalarlo dos veces.

Ahora también me pone dos cartelitos más:

Antivirus Database is Outdated y Antispyware Database is Outdated.

    Qué puede ser???

    Alguna vez te pasó???

  4. Hey,

Don't worry about anything, I just have the same problem. All AVG users are. It's just kind of like a bug, or the update is missing some files. The best recommended thing I suggest you should do is nothing. You might mess up AVG, and waste your time. They will probably update this soon. Your Antivirus and Spyware protection and all those stuff will still be working properly, so you shouldn't worry. The bad thing is you will have the ! on your grayish AVG icon. If you do not trust me you can search 'bin file missing' on Yahoo! Answers. You can see a list of questions exactly like yours posted somewhere 6 hrs, 7 hrs, 5 hrs ago, or somewhere today. It is just a false update made by grisoft. Just be patient and it'll be updated, and everything will be working properly again.

    Good Luck!

    Kevin

    Don't worry!

  5. "Currently the update for AVG Free v8 is corrupted... you will have to wait for AVG Technologies to address the issue with the update."

Listed in AVG's forum. Just wait until they correct the problem, you aren't the only user experiencing this issue.

If you'd like to update your software before they address it, here are the steps to correct it:

1 - Start up AVG, click Update Now.

2 - The list of updates is shown in Pop up, click on the more information link. A list of updates will be shown.

3 - Click on and save all updates in a file except the last one - http:// downloadfree.avg.com/update/ u7iavi1616oo.bin

Because this is causing the problem.

4 - Cancel the update and instead click on Tools -> Update From Directory and go to the file where you saved the updates. Install these and AVG should be working properly again.

    Hope this helps.
