  1. I get over 100 and have been reliably informed that it means nothing, so don't worry.

  2. Get kaspersky.

  3. it all depends on what the warnings are....

  4. should I be worried - YES, AVG stands for Anti Virus Guard however as your finding out it does not Guard - I would remove AVG for a Better AV like Free Avast or Free Avira (these do guard).

  5. I suppose it's just doing it's job, they are not all harmful, cookies etc but it's good to know they are there!

  6. AVG is a good anti-virus (AV) application.  I have used it in the past with no problems.  For me, typically using whatever AV software application give me very few warnings, possibly because I practice safe web surfing practices. If you are getting that many warning, per day.  My fear is that you maybe subject to Trojans.

As a precaution, I would download another anti-virus application.  Remove AVG and then install the other AV application, update the definitions and run and see what happens.  After you run the the AV applications a few times is then down load AVG again, remove the other AV application, then install AVG and update the definitions and run AVG again then see what happens.  Check to see if you are still getting the same warning

Generally, warnings are not serious because it shows your software is working, but if you keep getting them, it's a good idea see if another AV may help scrub some problems your previous AV missed.

If you are considering purchasing AV applications, statistically Nod32 and Trend Micro test out to be highest user satisfaction (whatever that means).  McAfee and Norton are the most popular pay for versions that we know work very well.

    I hope that help you.

  7. it doe's tend to class a lot of things as "virus".it is a good system though

    try ~ install and run "ccleaner"(yes 2 c's)

    run it weekly (at least).

it removes temp files and cookies from browsing, some cookies may be triggering your anti V.the things it removes will free some memory (well over 1GB if you do a lot of browsing)

    hope this helps .

    have a nice day

  8. In case of AVG, 'Threats' and 'Infections' are dangerous. Don't mind about 'Warnings'. It picks out some cookies stored in your computer by some websites. Cookies can't harm your computer.

  9. AVG is trash. I suggest getting Avast. If you are willing to pay for a better anti virus program I would go with Nod32 or Kaspersky but AVAST will do just fine and its free for home use

  10. No not at all.

  11. what is or are the warning? I have a avg and I never hardly get any!

  12. AVG also finds false positives and to be honest, IMO is no longer a reliable antivirus since the introduction of V8, which also has less functionality.

    Comparisons here:

I would suggest that you change to a more reliable AV:

Avast anti-virus better definitions, anti-spyware and anti-rootkit built in, faster and more reliable:

    Scan for malware:

    Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:

Download, install, update and select Full Scan.

Remove all infections that it finds after scan.

    Spybot S&D:

  13. Well from past expiriences AVG thinks everything is bad, when I tried runninng my photoshop and moviemaker it would always tell me I was risking worms and trojans since I hadn't something, even after norton said I was ok...... yes I had both cause I had one check the other but AVG was such a pain I just kept Norton.
