I keep going into C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS1\Frank\Local Settings\Temp\ and clearing it out completely (they seem to gather in that folder).

I was hoping there would be an up to date ISO file I can download and burn, boot from it and it will clean them off. I remember years ago there was a floppy disk called Silver Bullet.

Anyway, I am computer literate so just give some instructions and I will be happy to take over from there.

Thanks for your help!

  1. AVG sometimes cant delte the virus . USe norton 360 ver 2.0.

if it still doesnt works. becuase some virusare in boot sector so they rewrite themself as soon as avg catch. if in this case u might have to fomet the hard drive.

  2. They might be a backdoor Trojan hosting them, the free version of AVG doesn't remove backdoor Trojans unless you pay-up for the full version

Run Malwarebytes, ITS FREE and finally run AVG

  3. run an anti-spyware scan on your pc. Pretty sure spyware is the problem.

  4. You need to find the cause of why you are getting virus's.

Update AVG to the most current version and virus data base.

    Disconnect from the internet.

SCAN with AVG and DELETE all it finds.  Empty the Virus Vault.

Reboot the PC.  and Scan again.   IF you are still getting the files in temp try this:

Scan with AVG again and remove the bad files then:

Go to START > Run and type MSCONFIG into the text box and click OK.

ON the SERVICES TAB, TIC hide Microsoft Services.

    Then UN-Tick what is left.

On the START UP TAB,  UN tick everything except AVG

Click OK and reboot the PC and see if you still get the files in the Temp folder.

IF you don't get the files anymore then one of the programs you unticked is causing the problem.  Go back and turn them on one at a time until you find the one.

  5. That folder is where a lot of times, temporary internet files are placed.  I'd watch what websites your are going on.

The rest, I haven't heard of but, good luck finding a solution.  I would recommend finding a good firewall.  Komodo is a good one for XP I've heard.
