Which one is better? Or neither, maybe you have a suggestion for a better program. I just wanna buy a program that is good and actually works, so that I wouldnt call it "wasting my money".

  2. Hi!

Personally i haven't tried Avast, but i have used AVG before and can say it is a good antivirus, if you are looking for something free. Since you mentioned you would like to buy a program then i recommend ESET Smart Security. It is an all in one package that comes with antivirus, firewall etc. ESET products have the best virus detection rate and fastest scanning time. I also found that their products have the smallest impact on my system performance.

    Here's a link to their site: http://www.eset.com

  3. Actually, they are almost the same, no more difference.

Just choose one you like to setup it. And they are both absolutely free!!

If you want to get it, you can click here:

    AVG: http://www.brothersoft.com/avg-anti-viru...

    Avast: http://www.brothersoft.com/avast-virus-d...

    Good Luck

  4. Avast version 4.8 is a very effective and free anti-virus program because it can do a boot time scan in safe mode and it will remove the virus on your PC. Even those stubborn viruses that hide inside the system restore folder.

It now protects against spyware, rootkits, and other forms of nonvirus malicious software. Best of all, it's free for personal use.

  5. Download the two programs as a trial version first, and decide which one would fit your needs?
