Okay so when i first heard about avid I thought it was a program for kids in AP classes who wanted a head start in college, which is why I thought I got picked. But when I got to the Orientation. I saw kids from my old school that were like C/D students. A lot of the kids were really bad and threw stuff in class and were students to generally didn't care. I'm not stupid,I have a relitivly high gpa(3.41),im just disorganized. I really don't want to do this class, because it seems like a class for stupid kids, remidiation, even,so how can i get out of this? How can I convince my parents i don't need this program?

  1. You might have to see your counselor. I've never heard of AVID.

  2. Avid is for students who aspire to go to college but just need a little help getting there along the way.  The class teaches kids the skills they will need now and also later in life.  I really wish I had been asked into AVID because lots of the people I got to school with now went through it and are so organized and know where to research things on the internet.  It is a very helpful class and I suggest you don't drop out of it!
