Verbeek was pleased with the result and revealed that his troops staged an impressive show in the second-half to secure maximum points.
“We played well before the break but had too many men in front of the ball and that allowed Feyenoord to be dangerous on the break. In the second half some changes meant we were able to pick up more loose balls and in the end our energy forced the goals”,
Verbeek said while talking to the media.
On the other hand, Feyenoord head coach Ronald Koeman believes that his side fought well and put up an impressive show against a top Dutch side.
“Before the match the media called this a test. If this was a test, we passed despite the defeat”, Koeman was quoted as saying to the media.
The Alkmaar outfit have moved up in the Eredivisie table to occupy the top spot after the win, whereas the Rotterdam giants have dropped to fifth place.
