AZ Alkmaar have signed VVV-Venlo’s Ruud Boymans – Dutch Eredivisie news
Reports from Alkmaar confirm that AZ Alkmaar have successfully acquired the services of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 Stadion until the summer of 2015.
In spite of VVV finishing 17th in the league table, the young striker performed impressively at De Koel Stadion in the recently concluded season. Although the outfit from Venlo won the relegation/promotion play-offs to prolong their stay in the Dutch top tier, the youngster did not intend to extend his contract that ran until the summer of 2012 and desired to take the next step in his career.

AZ tabled a bid to acquire the 22-year-old’s services, but the VVV management turned down their offer. AZ, then, made an improved bid for the striker and succeeded in luring the young ace to Alkmaar. The AZ management sees the striker as the successor to Graziano Pelle, who looks set to join Serie A outfit, Parma FC.
Mario Captein, VVV technical director, revealed that the transition is certain as both parties have reached a verbal agreement.
“The agreement only needs to be put on paper,” Captein was quoted as saying to the media.
AZ have started their pre-season training sessions under Gertjan Verbeek. Reports suggest that the young striker would be making his presence at AZ Stadion on the coming Monday.
With the transfer of Boymans almost complete, it seems like Kolbeinn Sigthorsson would now be making a move to Ajax Amsterdam in the ongoing summer transfer market. The Icelandic International has remained a target for the Amsterdammers since the 2010/11 season concluded. Furthermore, the striker also desires to pursue his career at Amsterdam Arena.
