The 49-year-old tactician’s contract ran until the end of the 2012/13 campaign. However, the new contract will keep him at AFAS Stadion until the summer of 2015.
After signing the contract extension, the AZ head coach expressed his happiness and insisted that the only club that suits him perfectly in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 is his current club.
“I am happy. I have been here for a year and a half and I have a pleasant relationship with everybody. In the Netherlands there are not many clubs that suit me. For me it is very important to work with the right people, people you can trust. This is the
case here. That's why this is the right club for me”, Verbeek was quoted as saying to the Dutch media.
The Alkmaar outfit's technical director, Earnest Stewart, also expressed his delight after the 49-year-old agreed to sign an extension to his ongoing contract.
“Verbeek fits in with the philosophy of the club. He knows how we want to work. Gertjan has the ability to help players improve and we're proud that he's staying with us”, Stewart said while talking to journalists.
