The 26-year-old has been playing his trade at AFAS Stadion since the summer of 2008 but has expressed his desire to leave the current Eredivisie leaders at the end the season.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Niklas-Moisander-c27919, has expressed his desire to take the next step in his career by moving away from AFAS Stadion this summer. However, the 26-year-old has also insisted that he will not rush into any potential move and could remain at
the Alkmaar outfit for another season.
The Finish stopper arrived at AZ in the summer of 2008 after making 71 appearances for FC Zwolle. He has thus far played 100 matches for the outfit from Alkmaar and managed to net three goals along the way.
The 26-year-old has revealed that this is a good time to take the next step in his career.
“It would be nice to take the next step after playing at AZ for the past four seasons. I know that my contract runs until the summer of 2014, and the club has no urgency to part ways with me”, Moisander was quoted as saying to FCupdate.nl.
The highly-rated defender went on to confirm that reports linking him with Ajax Amsterdam are true, but added that he has not been reached by the club officially.
“I am being realistic. I do not think that I will have to choose from the clubs. And I do not care. I have heard that Ajax are taking interest in me. But I haven’t heard anything from my agent, Soren Lerby. But if AZ become Dutch champions then I will not
sign with any other club in Dutch top flight”, Moisander concluded.
The Finish stopper, who has represented his national team in 26 matches, has an ongoing contract that will keep him at AFAS Stadion until the summer of 2014.
The club management will not let go of their prized asset this summer, especially if they qualify to play in UEFA Champions League next term.
However, an offer in the region of seven million Euros could prove to be a too tempting one to turn down in the upcoming summer transfer window.
