Reports in Dutch media indicate that AZ Alkmaar’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rasmus-Elm-c30628 is the subject of interest from many Italian Serie A and English Premier League outfits. The 23-year-old has been performing highly at AFAS Stadion for the past couple of seasons.
The midfield ace arrived in Alkmaar in the summer of 2009 after impressing at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kalmar-FF-c39661 in his four-season stay. The Swedish midfielder scored 18 goals in 96 appearances before joining the Dutch top tier outfit.
Elm has represented the Alkmaar outfit in 58 matches so far and has managed to hit the target on 13 occasions. Moreover, his impressive playmaking skills coupled with his ability to win midfield battles has certainly played a vital role in achieving success
for AZ.
Patrick Mork, the midfielder’s agent, has revealed that his client has attracted interest from a host of elite European clubs. He admitted that many outfits were also keen in taking his signature in next year’s summer transfer window.
“Rasmus and I have talked about his current situation, because the interest from other clubs has been tremendous. Requests for interviews with him are all the time in streams. His status is currently very high”, Mork revealed while talking to the journalists.
The 23-year-old’s agent then went on to admit that a move to one of the top European clubs next year is a very likely possibility. However, he also made it clear that his client will only join a club where he can play maximum minutes.
A transfer, next summer, is not unthinkable. Many clubs from Serie A and the Premier League had shown interest in the summer transfer window. However, it is important that Rasmus feels at home just like what he feels while playing at AZ”, Mork concluded.
Elm has an ongoing contract that will keep him at AFAS Stadion until the summer of 2013. However, reports suggest that the AZ management would consider offering the 23-year-old an extension to his current contract later this year.
