I filed the day I was dishcharged, and i'm past my waiting week. I recieved my papers saying that if i'm approved then I will make a certain amount each week. It also showed how long and how much i will earn. Couple days later i recieved a Chase credit card through the unemployment office and it said that is how you recieve your money. Has anyone been throuhg this in Arizona that might know if I will be approved or not???

  1. Honestly, I've never heard of a state issuing a credit card in lieu of cash benefits for unemployment.  But, if that's what they're doing now a days... maybe this is a way of them to track what you're spending the money on. Which quite frankly I think is smart.

Keeps an eye to make sure you're not out boozin' it up.

Anyway, I'd definately call the number to your unemployment office and ask them (not this site) for answers to all your questions.  You don't want to be messing with unemployment money.

  2. get a job

  3. I'm not sure on the approval process, but I have seen the cards many times, and though chase bank systems in the banking center can't see the balances on these particular cards (since they are technically through the unemployment office...not opened by chase bank) you can always check the balances through the chase atms at no charge and run around the corner to the teller at the window and ask for the balance on the card..since the atm only gives twenties.....but I haven't heard of anyone actually getting a card and then not getting funds on it...so having received the card is a good thing.

    hope this helps, good luck!

  4. if you were discharged on any day except a friday and filed the same day, your waiting week might really be the following week probably, so it may take an extra week to get the first check - call them and find out your status - or maybe you have to wait until a certain day of the week until you get the money
