The young midfielder is not looking disappointed after being dropped from the 2010 World Cup runners-up’s selection for European Championship.

The 18-year-old, who started his professional career at AFAS Stadion in the 2010/11 season, had a remarkable 2011/12 campaign while donning the jersey of the Alkmaar outfit.
The promising youngster impressed many with his strong presence in the midfield, managing to hit the back of the net five times while setting up six more along the way in 34 Eredivisie performances.
His consistent showings at the left midfield position convinced the Oranje head coach, Bert van Marwijk, to add the youngster in the preliminary squad for European Championship.
However, the Dutch-Moroccan player was unable to make his way into the former Borussia Dortmund manager’s final squad.
Maher was not at all disappointed with the Dutch national team trainer’s decision and expressed optimism for the future.
“It's a pity, but after all I'm still delighted. My time will come. This is football. I will have to continue and prepare for next season”, the youngster was quoted as saying to the Dutch media.
The highly-talented midfielder, who has thus far represented the outfit from Alkmaar in 35 league matches, went on to admit that he would have loved to represent his national side in Poland and Ukraine.
“Of course, I would like to go to the Euros. But right now, I will go on holiday to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Morocco-c2961 with my parents”, Maher concluded.
The Dutch U-21 international has reportedly attracted interest from several European clubs including the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 and Manchester City, who have expressed interest in acquiring his services in the upcoming summer transfer
window.
Rafael van der Vaart, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, has recently advised the youngster to continue plying his trade in the highest echelons of Dutch football for at least three more years before moving abroad to one of the European
giants.
Maher has a contract at AFAS Stadion that runs until the summer of 2015.
