Aack! Our disney trip is scheduled for right in the midst of hurricane season 9/18-26, what can we expect?

Would you cancel? Can our enitre vaction be ruined, or just an afternoon/day or 2 of rain? We live in Colorado and never even think about hurricanes!

Don't cancel unless the news tells you there is a hurricane likely to hit Florida during the week you are going to be there.

If a hurricane hits, there could be flooding. There could be debris on the streets. Power lines could be down.  Many things can happen.  A big hurricane can cause huge amounts of damage.  A tropical storm usually has more rain than wind, but even a tropical storm can produce tornadoes.

Basically, just keeping track of the weather before and during the trip will be sufficient to keep you safe.
