Aakash Yadav tames Utsav Soi to claim Boy’s Singles U13 title at Delhi State Badminton Championship
India’s budding shuttler Aakash Yadav made his presence felt as he claimed Boy’s Singles U13 title after crushing his lower ranked team-mate Utsav Soi in the final battle of the Yonex Sunrise Hot Weather Delhi State Badminton Championship 2012 on Wednesday,
July 18, in India.
The talented Aakash, who was the top seed in Boy’s Singles draw of the championship, played to his maximum potential in the title match and easily overwhelmed Utsav in a dominating manner.
The top seeded Aakash was in tremendous form on court when he did not show any sign of confusion in the entire battle and easily ended it in straight games by putting up a staggering margin on the board.
The lower ranked Utsav, who was the eighth seeded shuttler in the main draw, failed to live up to expectations as he could not stretch his winning run while playing against Aakash and lost the contest without proving his mettle.
The opening game was shocking for Utsav who failed to play positive badminton against his higher ranked compatriot who was in superb form.
Aakash played at his best speed from opening rallies and easily managed to take a surprising lead on the score board.
After the one-minute break, the impressive Aakash continued putting up staggering performance as he played with complete control over the pace of rallies and did not let his opponent to dominate the game at any stage.
Aakash was on a completely different level on court and he easily bagged the opening set in a remarkable fashion by a superb 21-12 score on the board.
In the second game, Aakash became more aggressive as he spared no chance for Utsav to put up even meagre resistance and set up a huge lead until the one-minute break.
After the mid-game interval, the in-form Aakash continued entertaining his home fans by keeping the pace of rallies high and eventually ended up the second game with a stunning score of 21-8.
The aggressive Aakash won the title after taming Utsav in the final battle with an amazing 21-12 and 21-8 score on the board.
