http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Intikhab-Alam-c64380’s ability to pick the right coach – Cricket News Update
The former Pakistan captain, Aamer Sohail has slammed the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) decision to make Intikhab Alam the head of the committee which is going to decide on the next coach for the Green Shirts.
The previous coach of the Pakistan cricket team, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohsin-Hasan-Khan-c77595 is serving the team as the interim coach.
The Green Shirts did well in the Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 in all three departments of the game recently.
Such brilliant performances by Pakistan has made some of the cricket analysts believe that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohsin-c77587 should be made the permanent coach of the team because the boys have gelled well as a unit during his reign.
However, there have been talks in the media recently that PCB has finalized the name of former Australian cricketer, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013.
While speaking to http://www.pakpassion.net/, Aamer expressed that Intikhab is not the right person to pick or choose an international coach because he himself is not qualified.
Aamer said, "The individual who is responsible for the extremely important task of identifying the next coach of the national team and recommending him to the chairman should be someone who knows the job themselves and that is certainly not Intikhab."
The former Pakistan captain is of the opinion that Intikhab has been a controversial character in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 cricket and the former left handed opener said that PCB can never pick the right coach through the recommendation of Intikhab, who is not aware of
the technicalities of modern day cricket.
"For the PCB hierarchy to put Intikhab in charge of recommending the next coach of Pakistan to the chairman is absolutely scandalous. He (Intikhab) has no idea of what the requirements are and what the necessary skills are for a modern day coach to get the
best out of the current group of Pakistani cricketers”, he added.
