Aaqib Javed all praise for Mohammad Irfan – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Irfan-c76983 at the highest stage of the game and feels that the lanky pacer has added a lot of value to the country’s bowling attack.
The 30-year-old cricketer made his international debut during the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 in 2010 but miserably failed to make an impression and could not cope with the pressure. The tall speedster, however, worked hard in domestic cricket once again and earned
a recall to the national team during the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 last year.
Irfan impressed one and all with his ability to bowl fast and to extract maximum bounce from the pitches, troubling a strong Indian batting line-up. As a result, the left-arm fast bowler was selected for all three formats for the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757, where
he made his Test debut and bowled well throughout the series.
While speaking to Pakpassion, the former bowling coach of the Green Shirts expressed his delight over the improvement he has witnessed in Irfan’s bowling and urged the national selectors to persist with him in all formats of the game.
Most other fast bowlers in the country are short-heighted, which is the reason why Aaqib believes that Irfan is so precious.
“I think Irfan should be selected in all three formats as he has the skills to adjust his bowling as per the requirements of each format. He gives the Pakistan team something different, something that we’ve not really had for many years as most of our bowlers
are shorter skiddy bowlers who don’t hit the wicket hard, rather rely upon pace and swing,” said the former cricketer. “Having that variety with Irfan has really given the Pakistan bowing attack an additional dimension.”
There are doubts about Irfan’s fitness but Aaqib thinks that the team management should use the tall fast bowler wisely. He advised http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Irfan-c64444 in short spells so that he can put in his best effort.
“I place Irfan in the category of an impact bowler in Test cricket. He should bowl short bursts rather than long spells,” he added.
