Aaqib Javed sacked by the Pakistan Cricket Board – Cricket News Update
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after removing team manager Intikhab Alam on Tuesday has now sacked the assistant coach of the national team Aaqib Javed in a bid to revamp the team management.
However, the board has not given any reason for the removal of the assistant coach, who according to some sources was doing a commendable job in enhancing the performance of the national team.
The latest changes in the team have come after former one-day skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482 in his recent interview once again bashed the management for ruining the national team. In his interview the 31-year-old Afridi attacked Alam and head coach Waqar Younis,
insisting that Waqar should pass a coaching course in order to understand the dynamics of couching.
However, according to reliable sources Afridi has always been satisfied by the performance of the assistant coach http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wellington-c864.
Aaqib who has taken 54 wickets in 22 Tests is believed to have had good terms with the members of the national squad and unlike other members of the team management he has never been accused of incompetence by the Pakistan players.
However, some former cricketers in Pakistan had criticised the PCB for tagging two coaches with the national team having similar credentials since both Waqar and Aaqib were bowlers during their playing days, the critics argued that the team should have an
assistant coach with a batting experience.
With the removal of Javed, a new assistant coach is most likely going to be a former batsman, however, for now the PCB has not named anyone for the post.
Nonetheless, Naveed Akram Cheema has been named as the replacement for Alam during the Zimbabwean tour.

It is now unknown whether the PCB will retain the reigning Head Coach http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Waqar-Younis-Maitla-c96193 or will he be replaced by a new coach.
