Aaqib Javed will not extend his contract with PCB, confirms a senior board official
For more than a week, there has been a long grapple between the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Emirates Cricket Board over Aaqib Javed. He is finally leaving the Pakistan national team as a bowling coach to work with the UAE cricket team.
Aaqib Javed, who is presently in the UAE with the Pakistan cricket team, was earlier this month offered the role of the head coach by the Emirates Cricket Board, after http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Kabir-Khan-c77039 stepped down.
Javed’s contract with PCB as their bowling coach was due to end later this month, and the Board was eager to extend the contract, but he turned down the offer and accepted the role of the head coach of the UAE team.
A senior PCB official confirmed on Sunday that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Aaqib-Javed-c41431 has decided not to extend his contract with the Pakistan Cricket Board, adding that the former pace bowler’s decision has been influenced by family pressure.
"We spoke to him and tried to convince him that he should carry on working with the board at the national cricket academy and with the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 team,” said a senior Pakistan board official while speaking to media reporters on Sunday.
“But he made it clear that his decision to join the UAE team was influenced by family pressure. He and his family are looking to set up home in Dubai where they feel they have better options and a better life style," the official added further.
Aaqib Javed, the 39-year-old former pacer, was appointed as the bowling coach of Pakistan last year and is considered as a top coach in the current set up. During his less than a year stint with the Pakistan cricket team, he has led the side to convincing
clean sweeps over http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 last month. 
The former right-arm medium pacer, who played 22 Tests and 163 One Day Internationals for Pakistan, started his coaching career with the Lahore Regional Academy. He has also coached Pakistan's Under 19 national team.
He will take over as the head coach of the UAE team soon after the conclusion of Pakistan’s ongoing limited overs series against England on February 27.
