Aaron Finch helps Australia score 147 runs
A brand new addition to Twenty20 International cricket, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Aaron-Finch-c881, played gutsy innings of 53 unbeaten runs to accumulate a decent target for Australia against England.
Melbourne Cricket Ground staged this second day and night Twenty20 International match between arch rivals Australia and England.
Both teams remained unchanged for the game as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 won the toss and opted to bat first.
David Warner and Shane Watson started the Aussie innings in a flashy fashion before in form Shane http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Watson-c96326 was dismissed. Eoin Morgan took a neat catch at the deep square leg off the bowling of Chris Woakes. Watson scored 17 runs off 10 balls with the help
of two massive sixes.
Wicketkeeper batsman, Tim Paine, joined David Warner and the pair added just 26 runs before Paine was dismissed. Paine swept Graeme Swann but failed to connect properly. England captain and top fielder, Paul Collingwood, fumbled once before he caught the
catch at short midwicket.
The opener was the third player to get out when the score was 72. Warner faced 26 balls for his 30 runs, before Yardy picked up his wicket. A lame shot ended his innings, as Pietersen took an easy catch on the boundary line.
Cameron White failed to impress again and flopped after scoring naught. The newly appointed captain was under pressure, and Swann bowled a cracking delivery that wrapped White on the pads and was given out.
Soon after White’s dismissal, veteran batsman, David Hussey, got out after scoring eight runs.
Hoping for a World Cup berth, David Hussey perished after facing just 16 balls. Yardy claimed his wicket with a poor delivery. Hussey slashed hard but was caught by Woakes.
Australia was strangled by English spinners and the score was 80 at the expense of five wickets in 11.5 overs.
Aaron Finch played a sensible knock and steered the Aussie innings out of a chaotic downward spiral. All rounder Steven Smith and young Finch developed a 51 run partnership before Smith got out after scoring 13 runs.
At a very expensive economy rate, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ajmal-Shahzad-c42489, claimed Smith’s wicket.
Steve O’Keefe’s two ball innings ended after Tim Bresnan disturbed his furniture. O’Keefe tried a fancy shot, and failed completely in execution. Finch by name was not finch in nature as he smashed England’s bowlers all around the park.
Australia scored 147 runs in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Both English spinners had identical bowling figures, four overs, two wickets, for 19 runs.
