Aaron Kromer optimistic about New Orleans Saints season even after four straight defeats
The New Orleans Saints are still without a win this season and offensive line coordinator, Aaron Kromer is coming under increasing pressure to deliver a win as he continues to take head coaching duties in the absence of the suspended Sean Payton and Joe
Vitt.
Four straight defeats even though the Saints boast one of the best quarterbacks in the league will make any head coach worry but Kromer still is finding positives about the team and believes that the first win is close for the franchise.
It certainly seems that way after the Saints lost by just a single point last week to the Green Bay Packers in week four after kicker Garrett Hartley missed a 48-yard field goal attempt in the final few seconds.
Speaking to The Advocate on Wednesday Kromer said that the Saints are right on the margins of going on a big role.
He said:
“No loss is easy to take, but you can see more positives and so you would have more of a brighter outlook on the future. We really feel that we’re on the cusp of getting on a roll.”
Adding further he said:
“You can see the progress. Obviously it’s not good enough because we didn’t win. ... The progress is there and we are adjusting well to the situation, but we have to adjust a little better. I keep saying that each week. If you are looking at it, that’s the
way I see it.”
The Saints have faced the bitter taste of defeat right from the start and could blame the bounty scandal suspensions for their poor performance.
However, in reality the Saints poor performances in defence have cost the team greatly with new defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo’s strategies getting found out each game.
Quarterback Drew Brees and the offence continuously deliver for the Saints week in and week out but poor defending has seen the Saints narrowly miss out on wins.
The Saints now face the San Diego Chargers in week five and Kromer is positive that the team can find their first win of the 2012-13 season. He has to.
