Aaron Martinez to headline ‘Locked N’ Loaded’ pay-per-view against Joshua Marks – Boxing News
Aaron Martinez, the former USA California State welterweight champion, will enter the ring to headline ‘Locked N’ Loaded’ pay-per-view and will take on fellow countryman Joshua Marks in an eight-round showdown which will be televised live on Friday May 11,
2012.
The ring for the bout will be setup at Doubletree Hotel situated in Ontario, California, United States and the special edition is being promoted by Ken Thompson of Thompson Boxing Promotions.
The Friday night show will be co-headlined by the eight-round non-title bout between Jhonatan Romero and Adolfo Landeros. Aaron, 30, is a surging American pugilist who has been in a total 18 bouts.
The Californian has emerged victorious in 16 bouts and nailed just three opponents by knockout. He has collected just one loss decision in his career but seriously lacks the ability to stun the opponent with a powerful jab.
Martinez is on an eight-bout win streak since his last loss to Abdon Lozano and is recently coming from a split decision win over Dashon Johnson. His Friday night opponent, Joshua, is a surging young American prospect who is clearly overshadowed by Aaron’s
experience.
Marks, 24, has been in a total 11 bouts and emerged victorious in eight. Interestingly, he has collected all of his eight wins by knocking the opponent out cold and possesses a powerful right hand.
Also known as ‘The Superman’, Joshua recently broke his two-bout lose streak and collected an impressive seventh-round knockout win over Oscar Godoy. Though he is a powerful knockout specialist yet he has fought men who were of least experience and this
will be the first time he will take on a man having an upper edge over him.
At the moment, the odds are clearly in favour of Aaron not only because he has more experience but also because he possesses a decent win ratio and has fought men who had quite hefty resume.
Aaron boasts wins over names such as Juan Pablo Montes de Oca, undefeated Joseph Elegele, Pavel Miranda, and others. Joshua will have to put forth a powerful game show and must try to get an early win since he will get fatigued with the passage of time which
will give Aaron an ample opportunity to connect more jabs and collect precious points.
If Marks collects a win this will certainly boost him not only in the world rankings but it will also enable him to grab more high profile bouts in near future but this will take a whole lot of effort since Aaron will certainly give a tough time.
