Aaron Murphy makes switch to Huddersfield Giants - Rugby League

While talking to reporters on Saturday, October 8, the chief executive of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, James Elston, confirmed that Aaron Murphy will no longer play for Wakefield and will join in with Huddersfields Giants.

However, this is not the only change at Wakefield, there are another two fresh recruits for Giants.
Andy Raleigh and Danny Kirmond will be the latest uptakes for the upcoming season and are believed to be valuable additions to the outfit.
While talking about the recent changes within the franchise, Elston of Wildcats stated, "Despite our best efforts I am very disappointed that Aaron Murphy will no longer be a part of the future at Wakefield. However, we are keen to make sure we stick to
our faith of developing young British talent and I am confident we have players, such as Danny Cowling and Lucas Walshaw, coming through that will successfully fill those shoes. We are delighted to have Danny and Andy on board for the future. Both players
will add fantastic value to the club and the squad alike."
Huddersfield’s managing director, Richard Thewlis admitted that all eyes were on Aaron at the beginning of this season and amongst many other clubs, Giants were also hoping for this catch, for which the club is very pleased.  The prop already had a huge
pool to opt out from, and his link up with the club is a huge leap for the club.
The announcement about the latest uptakes seemed more like a swap deal which had not been the case, as all three players had a number of options to choose from.
He also thanked Andy and Danny for their brilliant stint at Huddersfield and wished them a bright future ahead with their new club.
With Murphy’s exit from Giants, Danny Cowling and Lucas Walshaw, will fill in his shoes. The club has full faith in their talent and is very happy with the latest changes at home.
It has been revealed by various sources that Murphy had initially turned down the offer made by Huddersfield at the beginning of this season. However, by the end of the current year he changed his mind and agreed to a four-year contract with the club.
