Aaron Ramsey targets November return for Arsenal
Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, who has been out of contention since suffering a dreadful broken leg injury in February, has said he is looking to return next month.
Ramsey, 19, joined Arsenal from Cardiff City in 2008 and was enjoying a promising season for his club before a tackle from Stoke City's Ryan Shawcross put him out for the season with a double fracture.
Having worked diligently with Arsenal's medical staff since the injury, the Welshman is now able to train with a ball.
'"I think I'm on track, the target is November time," Ramsey told Arsenal TV Online. "I'm just doing my pre-season work now, trying to get a bit of spring back in my right leg, but apart from that all is going well so far."
Ramsey added that he has finally left the confines of the gym at Arsenal's Colney training centre, saying that he's enjoying being able to run in the fresh air.
"I hate being in the gym. That's the worst bit about this. It's much better to be out in the air with a ball or even just running, I don't mind that. I just want to be out of the building."
Impressed in midfield last season
The two-way midfielder impressed manager Arsene Wenger last season, scoring three goals and making three assists in 18 league appearances.
His return will boost Arsenal's central midfield, where Cesc Fabregas, Vassiriki Diaby and Denilson Pereira Neves are vying for the starting spots.
"He comes from so far that certainly he had deeper doubts in his mind," Wenger told the club's official website about the midfielder's long road to recovery. "Now he knows that again he will be a football player he wants to hurry up and make it happen as
quickly as possible, but just for him to have the ball again and to be outside training is a fantastic sensation.”
Ramsey could return in time for Arsenal's league fixture against Tottenham, which is scheduled for 20 November.
