Arsenal’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aaron-Ramsey-c3065 has urged his team to come out with all guns blazing this coming season and hopes for them to make a solid start to the season, which could help them push for trophies.
The North London club have now gone seven years without winning a trophy and this seems to finally be getting to the player's heads.
Last season, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 had one of the worst starts in their history, as the team managed to pick up only seven points from their opening seven games. This slow start saw the team trail their rivals early on and made it close to impossible for them to get back in the title race.
However, the team managed to push forward in the closing stages of the season and miraculously secured a third spot finish at the end of the season.
Ramsey feels that if the team kicks things off, the same way they started the last season, they could potentially go on and pick up a trophy or two this season.
"I'm convinced we can do well in the new season"
"The important thing is to get off to a better start than we did last year. If we do that and get ourselves into the mix, we can compete for trophies.
"We had a fantastic run from February onwards to get into that top three - even though a lot of people doubted us. We showed character to do that, we showed how determined we are to do well. This time we want to get off to a strong start and if we do we can have an exciting season."
The midfielder then went on to reveal that he would miss out on most of the pre season, as he would be looking to join up with the Great Britain Olympic squad on Saturday.
"I will miss out on the pre-season tour because I'll be with the Olympic squad from Saturday," he added.
It is hard not to agree with Ramsey, since all Arsenal need to try and focus on, is getting a good start this season. Once that happens, the team could be on course to finally ending their barren run.
