Aaron Rodgers’ compliment makes LeGarrette Blount "feel amazing" – NFL News
When struggling Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-3 this month) came to Lambeau Field in Green Bay to face this season’s best team by far Green Bay Packers, no one gave them any hope of giving any sort of fight to the Super Bowl XLV Champions.
Buccaneers however surprised everyone with a strong performance that just fell short of giving Packers their first defeat of the season.
Buccaneers Running Back LeGarrette Blount had a great game against Packers as he completed his second 100 yard game this season and capped the performance with a powerful touchdown run in the second quarter.
The 24 year old received praise all round but in his opinion he got the praise that mattered the most from this season’s Best quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
"He told me he thinks I'm one of the best backs in the league," Blount said Monday. "He told me I have a chance to be one of the greatest backs in this league and he said he doesn't just say that to anybody. He feels like me and
one other guy have the potential to stand out and be two of the best running backs to ever play the game.
"Coming from Aaron Rodgers, it makes me feel amazing."
Blount was equally praising of Rodgers telling him that he deserves to win the National Football League’s Most Valued Player Award a proposition many will agree with.
Blount got the football on the first down in the second quarter then started a powerful run muscling his way past six Packers defenders and scoring his side’s first touchdown with a 54 yard run. His run was the highlight of a surprisingly
good Bucs performance.
The Buccaneers could have won the game as well in the fourth quarter when they brought the Packers lead down to just two points with a Dezmon Briscoe touchdown from a two yard pass by quarterback Josh Freeman with four minutes
of play left.
Tampa Bay, however, scuffed an on field kick to tie the game and when the Packers got possession Aaron Rodgers sent a 40 yard pass to Jordy Nelson to seal the game and save Packers unbeaten streak.
Buccaneers now have a run of easier fixtures starting with a game against inconsistent Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
