  1. I'm for it.  There are a lot of teenage girls out there who think they can hide a pregnancy.  Then they give birth - at home, or at school, or at a friend's house - and now they have to tell their parents about the baby.  That's a scary situation.  So if the girl would rather take her baby to an emergency room or a fire station or a police station or other designated "safe place" and leave it so that it can be adopted, then I'm all in favor.  It sure beats finding that same baby in a dumpster a week later.

It breaks my heart that a mother would feel it necessary to take her baby to a place like that and leave it, because I know that has to hurt her too.  On the other hand, with these "safe shelters" to take in the babies, at least these moms don't have to live with knowing they killed their own child by leaving it exposed to animals or the elements or bad weather.

I'm for it.  These moms have made a hard decision and don't need anyone else telling them they should be punished.

  2. If a woman takes her newborn to a Hospital during the first 72 hours of it's life with no questions asked it sure beats abortion.

My Biological Mother gave me up for adoption instead of having an abortion and I happen to enjoy being alive!

  3. I think it is one of the best laws that we have. Yes the moms do get away with it but they are also giving that child a life and hopefully a nice home. Who knows maybe some day one of those baby's could be president.

  4. i'm for it, and i think they should be extended, i'd rather see a 2 week old baby get left at a fire station than a 2 week old in the ICU because their mother simply stopped taking care of them.

  5. that is a toss up. i had the same two thoughts.but as i sit here with my sleeping baby in my arms and think about those helpless infants found in garbage cans and lord knows where else, crying by themselves with no comfort... i cant help but believe it is better to offer a safe baby haven. i think these women would do it no matter what, so we can atleast spare the childs life. yes all states should have it.

what a world we live in...

  6. do you mean the law where they can surrender a baby within 7 days of life no questions asked if they dont want it?

then yes I'm all for it

better than finding that baby dead in a dumpster

That woman will get hers in the long run

but that baby will have a chance at life with a family who wants and will love it.
