Aberdeen arena illuminated by ‘Power’ boom
The 15-time champion of darts and the ‘power’ of the game is back with a bang.
With the start of McCoy Premier League at Aberdeen, the 51-year-old Taylor has started to get back on track with the wheel of victories rolling in for him.
After winning his campaign opening game against reigning champion Adrian Lewis, Taylor was face to face against his old time rival Kevin Painter.
The rivalry might have diminished in terms of intensity, but it has definitely not ended.
However, the end results of the enmity once again proved to be the same, as Phil outclassed his opponent by humiliatingly defeating him 4-1.
The victory is marked with the starting of the second week of Premier League. Throughout the game, it was just Taylor dominating the oche solely.
With the help of treble 20, treble 17 and with the double 18, he was able to checkout at 147 in the 10th leg of the game.
On the other hand, it would be unjust to ignore Kevin’s repeated efforts of making his comeback in the game.
The Artist, with the help of scoring 80, tried to get an immediate break to get a 127 finish.
Despite the fact that Taylor was going through constant lead, Painter was able to bounce back in the game by hitting the bull at the right time to check out at 123.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Painter said, "In my mind I was thinking 'hit a nine-darter, put him under pressure'. I couldn't put him off, whatever I did he just kept countering".
However, Painter said that he is not disappointed with his performance as he delivered his best in front of a player like Taylor.
He further added that he will try his best to perform much better in his later matches and entertain people as much as he can.
On the other hand, it was Adrian Lewis this time who is failing to handle his nerve.
In his last encounter against Barneveld, the Jackpot failed to create any luck magic that could have ended the game in favour of Lewis.
After losing the first two legs of the game the world champion lost his nerve only to settle a 402 defeat at the hands of the Dutch superstar.
