Aberdeen provides sponsorship for the Scottish Open
The Scottish Open 2012 has found another sponsor for itself. This time it is Aberdeen Asset Management. The company started in the year 1991 and is an independently running asset manager.
The event, which is going to take place from the 12th of July to the 15th of July, is sponsored by Aberdeen Asset Management for a 30-second television commercial.
This commercial is going to run in USA, Europe and UK. It is going to feature a number of Scottish golfers.
The Commercial starts with a few beautiful aerial photographs of the Castle Stuart course. This is the course where the Scottish Open is to take place next week.
The commercial is going to be narrated by Bill Torrance. He is one of the finest voiceover artists in Scotland.
Many channels are going to show this commercial throughout the Open. The Aberdeen’s TV commercial is going to run on channels like Golf Channel, Business Channel and CNBC in USA. The ad will also be broadcasted in UK, on channels like BBC and Sky.
Last year, the ad was shown for 30 hours and it was seen by an enormous audience of 82 million in the USA and 5.5 million in Canada. The ad was also shown in Asia and Europe.
The Chief Executive of the company Aberdeen Asset Management, Martin Gilbert said, "We have been a loyal supporter of Scottish golf for nearly 15 years and we are delighted that we are able to sponsor the Scottish Open".
"The television ad helps to convey our enthusiasm for this event and importantly supports our strategy of raising the profile of Aberdeen Asset Management in the U.S. - home to around half of the worlds wealth," he added.
Gilbert also said that working with the Scottish Open has enhanced the company’s existing golf portfolio.
Gilbert said in a statement, “The international reach of the tournament is of great appeal, as we seek to continue building the Aberdeen brand in the USA and across Europe”.
Aberdeen is not only promoting the sponsorship on TV, it is also promoting the sponsorship on online channels like Facebook and YouTube.
