Abestos from a furnace?

does anyone know what it looks like,is it like a black soot, or white like ash?

  1. Asbestos in furnaces, are in the insulation form, and look like pad, a compressed half inch pad that will cover the walls of the furnace.

    usually a charcoal grey color.


  2. If there is asbestos around your furnace it would be gray and either in sheet form or like insulation. The black soot is from unburnt fuel. White ash is from the burned fuel also.
