The young Indian pacer, Abhimanyu Mithun, has expressed that he is eager to prove his worth at the international stage, saying that his recent inclusion in the national team has infused a new spirit in his cricket career.

Zaheer and Sreesanth’s exclusion gave a chance to the young fast bowler, Mithun, to make his way in the Test side. After making his debut against Sri Lanka at Galle last year, he has represented India in three Tests, claiming six wickets at a strike rate
of 92.00.
Enormously delighted over his inclusion in the Test squad, Mithun referred his selection as a huge opportunity for him to make a good impression at the highest level.
"It feels good to be picked again. I did expect to go to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758," Mithun said.
The 21-year-old paceman further shared that he was slightly disappointed over not being able to make his place in the squad for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750’s tour to South Africa in 2010, but he didn't let it affect his game.
Responding to the question that whether a fast bowler needs stronger temperament to perform in the longer version of the game as compared to the limited-over cricket, the Bangalore-born pacer added, "I found it easier in the Tests. There I was a rookie,
I only had to look after my bowling, for which to the seniors were very much around to help. But when I got back to first class cricket, it was very different. The expectations had gone up and I was looked upon as someone who will get wickets whenever I bowled.”
Team India is due to meet the Caribbean Kings in the three-match Test series, starting from June 20, 2011, and Mithun is confident to deliver his best in the series and cement his place in the national side.
