Abilify use?

Just wanting to know if any other parents have experience with their children being on Abilify and if there were any problems and any other info you would like to share. My 6 year old was prescribed it today but of course the more i read up on it the more it makes me not want to give him it but I really would like to hear from other parents who had children on it. Thanks.

My 11 year old daughter takes abilify - 15mg at night. She has no problem with it. After dealing with manic and depressed episodes for years, with the onset of puberty she began hearing voices and started hurting herself. She was diagnosed as bipolar after a stay in an inpatient facility 6 months ago. The abilify (along with lamictal) has been a real blessing for our family and has changed her life in such a positive way. Her moods have completely stabilized and she no longer has thoughts of hurting herself - the voices are gone and she is doing excellent.

I'm not sure why your daughter was put on abilify but I'm very happy with the results we've seen with my daughter.
