I am in Australia, and saw a T.V. show filmed in the U.S.A, which got me to wonder how hard or easy is it to have a termination, do professional medical trained people perform the procedure or do you have do it by untrained people. is abortion legal if so in how many states of the U.S is it legal to perform a terminate in. how much money would it cost. can any women have it preformed or do you show a good reason to have it done? if you could tell me anything else about how it works in the U.S.A I would be grateful I do not want to contact any of the service providers as I have no need for their services I do not personally know any body in the U.S.

  1. Personally I think Abortion is wrong, because everyone has a right to live. We did not choose to come into this world. I don't think anyone has the right to decide if any person should not be born. I believe that if you have an unwanted baby, the adoption is an option. I think there would be less Abortions if people would stop and think before they perform such ludicrous acts.

  2. Abortion is legal in every state in the U.S.  Some states have varying restrictions on things like parental consent for minors, and how late in pregancy it can be done. In general, a first trimester abortion can be done for any reason.  Different states have diffrerent restrictions on second and third trimester abortions.

Abortions are done by trained professionals in either hospitals or clinics.  Cost varies, but is typically around $500 for a first trimester procedure.

  3. Trained professionals preform the procedure. Abortion is legal in all 50 states in the first trimester, it is legal during the 2nd trimester BUT can only be done if there is a medical reason for it (though it doesn't have to be a life or death situation). It is almost always illegal  in the 3rd trimester unless there is an EXTREME case where there is a pressing life or death situation. Cost depends, in the case of an abortion caused by a medical reason insurance may cover it. 1st trimester abortions are easy to get, for minors most places you just need to have a parent (who can prove they are your parent) present, though some you don't even need that, and the prices range.

  4. Legal abortions must be terminated by a medical doctor.  It is legal for such a professional to perform an abortion in all 50 states but there are various regulations and restrictions.

  5. It has to be a medically trained person, but not necessarily a doctor.  It is legal in all states but different states have different laws for girls under 18.

I believe in the third trimester one needs to show a reason for it being done, don't quote me on that though.

How much it costs depends on how it is done.  It is cheaper to take an abortion pill than it is to have a D&C (surgery).  I'm not sue of the exact cost.

My d&c for a miscarriage cost $800 for the surgeon, $800 for the anesthsia, and around $1300 for use of the operating room.  My total bill was $9400 because I came in through the emergency room.

I'm sure that this is on the high end for a d&c because I had an ob/gyn do it and I've never had an elective abortion.  I guessing an elective one is around $1000.

  6. Unfortunately trained professionals perform the abortions.  Abortion is federally legalized which means that every state has to allow it.  I am not sure of the cost, but I think you can obtain a very low cost one through planned parenthood.  Not sure, but they may even be free.  Any woman can have one, there doesn't have to be a medical reason for one.  They mainly are legalized up through the first trimester and part of the second.  Late abortions are illegal (ones where the baby would be viable).

  7. It is legal throughout Britain, but a doctor can say no if they are religiously opposed to it.  It is still not permitted in Northern Ireland, and many women have to travel to the mainland to seek terminations. (R.e. the 1967 act)

Only a registered doctor can perform a termination under British law.

  8. abortion is a womens choice in most states, a couple states its illegal.  It usually costs $400-$600.  And its done by a professional
